Tems, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Scorpion Kings & More to Headline Afro Nation Portugal 2025

by Showafrica September 27, 2024 1038 0 Comment

Afro Nation is gearing up for an unforgettable fifth-anniversary celebration in 2025, featuring two of the most prominent figures in African music, Tems and Burna Boy, at the forefront. Scheduled for July 9 to July 11 in Portugal, this festival is set to be a significant highlight for the global African music community.

To add even more excitement, Afro Nation has revealed a new lineup of headliners, including the internationally acclaimed pop sensation Ayra Starr, Franglish, Gabzy, Tiakola, and Inoss’B. The Piano People stage will also showcase Scorpion Kings and DBN Gogo, along with Vigro Deep, Mörda, Oskido, KMAT, Shakes & Les, and Rosey Gold.

Burna Boy is a familiar name to Afro Nation fans, having been part of the festival since its inception in 2019. His return next year follows an incredible year of record-breaking achievements. With his electrifying performances around the globe, Burna Boy has redefined what it means to be an African artist on the world stage. His captivating stage presence promises to make his 2025 performance an event that fans won’t want to miss.

On the other hand, Tems will be headlining Afro Nation Portugal for the first time. Her rapid ascent from the alté scene to international fame has been remarkable, and her participation marks a significant moment for women in Afrobeats. Following the success of her acclaimed album, Born in the Wild, she stands at the forefront of a new generation that is elevating African music into the mainstream and exploring new musical horizons.

Afro Nation has evolved from a simple festival into a vibrant cultural movement. What started on the shores of Portimão in 2019 has transformed into a global platform that amplifies the voices of African artists. Previous headliners like Wizkid, Davido, and Megan Thee Stallion have played pivotal roles in connecting African music with the global audience.

As Afro Nation marks its fifth anniversary, the Piano People stage, which highlights the lively amapiano genre, will be back in 2025, ready to deliver even more energetic beats to the beach. Stay tuned for more updates on the lineup as the countdown kicks off.

Pre-sale tickets will be available starting October 2.
